This year’s almond yield determines next year’s bloom and crop load. Post-harvest applications can be considered the first application for the next season.

In almonds, yield is directly tied to nutrient removal, and almonds remove large amounts of potassium each year. It is important to consider novel solutions to supplement potassium (K) in the soil. Fall applications of banded SOP, or potash, are key  to replenishing potassium levels. The addition of Hydra-Hume® protects SOP applications from binding to the soil and frees soil-bound K, thus increasing availability. By keeping nutrients available for crop uptake, trees can access what they need to support future crop and soil nutrient demands. Replenish the nutrients taken off by the crop, and set the foundation for your orchard when it starts to break dormancy and enter pre-bloom.

In addition to post harvest fertility, a pre-emergent herbicide application plays an important role for the upcoming season. Applications of Centrus®, with Grounded®-W, will control several grass and broadleaf weed species before they emerge. Conditioning spray water with Quest® ensures the herbicide active ingredients work to their full potential as water quality can impact herbicide efficacy.
